Bray Bray has been looking for a safe place to stay, not only for himself, but more importantly for a heavily pregnant girl, Trudy. The day after Amber and Salene move into the Mall, and while Lex is still held between the two grilles while they decide what to do with him, ominous noises are heard coming from the sewers. Amber & Dal investigate, see a shadow of someone - nothing more - but realize there is danger. Amber agrees to free Lex and Ryan, for they would seem best able to flush out whoever is in the sewers. They give chase, up a ladder to ground-level, then away from the Mall. But Bray is smart. Hiding under a bridge he waits until Lex and Ryan go past. Then he doubles back - back to the Mall. Armed with primitive weapons, Amber, Dal & Jack investigate, and this time Bray introduces himself - as a friend. By the time Lex and Ryan return, Bray has settled in and been accepted. Only Lex resents and contests that decision, forever holding a grudge against him, even plotting to have him expelled.
