A Vote: Can Trudy Stay? While Salene is taking care of Trudy, feeding her, then letting her sleep, Lex is making trouble for her (and therefore for Bray), pushing his hard line that Trudy and a baby are bad news for a tribe struggling to survive. To settle the issue, Amber announces a vote, to be taken shortly. As might be expected, the girls (+ Paul) vote Yes, and the boys vote No. Amber abstains. The vote is even, and Amber's vote must decide. She says No. Amid Bray's protests and curses, Amber explains why she voted No: Lex is right, a small group struggling to survive cannot take on the added responsibility of a baby. But just when Bray is helping Trudy to leave, Trudy's waters break. This changes everything.
