Rats in the Café Bray tells Salene about Zoot, his kid brother whose real name was Martin. She goes the Café to make a hot drink for them both, for neither could sleep. She comes running back screaming. Rats have moved in! Soon everyone is awake and on the scene. Lex trivializes the rat infestation, but Amber takes it seriously. Rats spread disease. Tomorrow there must be a grand clean-up. Salene tells everyone about Zoot, and soon they all understand that Lex killed the father of Trudy's baby. Trudy is more concerned that Salene was in Bray's arms. As everyone troops back to bed, Trudy's glare back is full of resentment and jealousy.
