Chickens! At a time when Amber is trying diplomatically to persuade Lex to delegate some of the responsibilities of leadership to others, Bray comes back to the Mall with a box containing live chickens. Bray later explains he felt in some way responsible that Cloe lost Bluebell, and he's trying to make amends. Cloe is still missing, but Paul and Patsy are delighted with the new pets. As might be expected, Lex can only see a plate of roast chicken on the horizon. Amber has a better idea, keeping them for eggs. Patsy finds an egg freshly laid in the box. There's talk of omelets and meringue. Amber saunters over to Bray. She has already suggested to Lex that Bray would make an ideal provisions man. She offers him the job, certain that Lex is about to make an all-important announcement. At Amber's prompt he does. Lex steps down from being sole leader, and appoints Amber for everyday stuff, and Bray to take care of provisions. Sadly, in Ep.36 Bray and Zandra eat one of the chickens, much to Cloe's distress.
