Bray makes a deal with Ebony When Ebony escapes from the cage at the Mall, everyone is so psyched up ready for imminent attack by the Locos and what to do about it that no one notices when Bray slips out. Bray locates Ebony at the railyard. She could have jumped him, but instead they talk. Bray reveals the truth how Zoot died, it was a stupid accident. He describes the warrior's funeral they gave him. He also explains that The Mallrats are not interested in conquering, they just want to be left alone. Bray offers Ebony Zoot's Talisman, something he always wore. He hopes it will help her keep his brother Zoot's name alive. In return Ebony promises to leave the Mallrats alone. When Bray gets back he finds the Mall barricaded against him, and Lex has him arrested for questioning. The whole idea is absurd and Lex is forced to drop it. Without giving details, Bray assures The Tribe that for now, Ebony will not attack them.
