Trudy Becomes Hostile to Bray When Bray returns to the Mall after another unsuccessful search for Paul, Amber is extremely hostile and Dal stands up to him, warning him against seeing Trudy. He tries anyway, but she refuses to see him. Later he tries again, but this time he goes in despite her refusal. Trudy has completely turned against Bray, and has her own version of why he brought her to the Mall: He was looking for somewhere to stay where he could be top-dog without much competition, and a pregnant girl was his passport in. But once in, he had no further use for her. Then quite suddenly she threatens him with a knife and drives him from her room. When Dal sees what is happening, he rushes at Bray, sending him sprawling to the floor. Bray of course soon gains control and pins Dal down. Bray has no quarrel with Dal, but will hurt him if he has to. He lets Dal go, on the condition he doesn't try it again. Dal and Trudy talk about life at the Mall. Trudy hates it and has decided to leave. Meanwhile Jack is becoming irate that Dal isn't helping him with the wind project, and he blames Trudy for being a distraction. A furious argument rages on the balcony. Trudy joins in, backing up Dal, so Jack insults Trudy in return. Even Salene joins in, while everyone else watches. In the end, Amber has to intervene to stop an all-out fight.
