Dal Tries to Escape Troy has enlightened Dal and Sasha why they have been chained up. He is going to sell them as slaves at the Tribal Gathering. Dal comes up with a plan for escape: they will dig into the dirt around the tent pole. Keeping their work hidden from the Nomads, they make good progress. Finally, they are able to slip their chains under the pole. As they are making their escape Troy and Susannah spot them. Dal & Sasha lie low while the Nomads pursue them. Then they double back to find Sasha's horse. Sasha insists on loading up his drums and musical instruments - for these are how he earns a living. And then they are off! Unfortunately they head straight into a group of Nomads who are still hunting for them. After grabbing hold of the horse, they bring the two prisoners down. This was their one chance and they blew it.
